Canvas and nylon flight-bag style messenger bags by Red Canoe Brands.
CBC Style: We combed through the CBC archives to find inspiration for this bestseller. Like all our cotton shoulder bags, this shape is based on a 1950s hunting satchel that we fell in love with years ago. 100% cotton twill with adjustable shoulder strap.
The RCAF heritage collection was designed in honour of the men and women who served — and who serve today — in the Royal Canadian Air Force. When the RCAF first started in 1924, they focused on civil air missions: forestry patrols, land surveys and anti-smuggling efforts. During WWII they peaked as one of the largest air forces in the world. A portion from the sale of RCAF products goes to support veterans.
About Red Canoe Brands
In 1999 Red Canoe was conceived in a bush plane over the pristine wilderness of Northern Ontario. The imagery, romance and heritage of travel by bush plan represents a tradition of the Canadian pioneers who pushed the limits of possibility in the face of all the adversity our rugged landscape could muster.
Sudbury Ontario native Dax Wilkinson grew up with these flight experiences and decided to create a product line inspired by Canadian icons with great stories like the bush plane--the tool by which much of the Canadian landscape had been made accessible. A Red Canoe could be thought of as the precursor to flight and the ultimate symbol of pure, simple, idyllic, rugged, hardworking Canadian lifestyle. And so the company name was born.
Red Canoe next delved further into Canadian stories and worked to include icons like the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), CP Railway and many others. We share their histories and find ways to support and preserve their respective traditions and legacies.
A portion of proceeds on RCAF design items goes to support RCAF Veterans and Canadian DND aviation related initiatives.
